i have a payday loan that i havent paid for about 6 months. i received a phone call at work by a law firm handling this loan and was told that if i didn't have the full payment by tomorrow, a sheriff would come and arrest me and take me to court and i might spend 4 to 5 months in jail. the pay day loan place said they wouldn't take any money from me and that my loan was listed a money stolen

First of all, you cannot go to jail for a defaulted payday loan. If you could, then half of us on this forum would be in jail. What State do you live in? What is the name of the payday lender? Was it internet or storefront? If a payday lender is not licensed to do business in your State, then you are only morally obligated to pay back the principal balance (no interest and no fees).
