Payday loans are drowning us!!

I found this site while searching for resources to help get my family out of debt. I have used payday loans on and off for years and just recently, everything hit the fan and I can't move forward. My husband and I can barely pay rent and that's behind due to these loans. My checking acct is now $1,000.00 overdrawna and it's being threatened to close. I just put a ach freeze on it with my bank because I just can't pay everyone back at the same time. It's not that I don't want to pay, we just got ourselves in too deep and want to get out, but don't know how. I'm currently defaulted on Cashnet Usa $298.00 and Check n Go $280.00. I also just got a call from Dollar Financial ( money mart ) for 417.50 and have Advance America too at $336.00. There is Loansmart for $230.00 and Check into Cash for $575.00. I desperately want to know how to go about working with these lenders to clean up my debt, but I want to be able to keep a roof over my head too and eat. Does anyone have any good advice? Will I go to jail?/ Is it feasable to think I can get payment arrangements? I live in Ohio... We are desperate.. Help please!!


Take a deep breath, you story looks familiar... Because we've all been there before. You will be fine and it will all work out.

Okay so are any of those store front PDLs? I only recognize two CashNetUSA (who I've dealt with) and they operate legally, and CheckNGo which I've heard horrible things about. Also we need to know how much you've paid total on these PDLs, no need to separate fees from principal and all that, just how much total.

You do have a few options. You can sign up or call the number on here to talk to a counselor, they can send you in the right direction. There are do it yourself options, and looks like you've taken one step in getting the ACH freeze. And you can also search on here about different debt consolidation type companies that will work with PDLs.

You are not going to jail. You probably have illegal PDLs and since they are illegal they are not about to draw attention to themselves by doing the paperwork to get you into jail. The ones that are legal, we'll help you out on how easy they are to work with.

I feel like I'm in the right place to get the help I need. I want to register by the way, but I'm unsure how to do so. My loans are
Checksmart 298.00 / Check n Go 280.00
I havn't paid anything on those yet
Advance America - I owe 336.00 more dollars on and 230.00 to Loan Smart. There is a loan at Money Mart for 417.50 that is outstanding and Check into cash for $575.00. I want to make payments. Thank you for helping me to put things together. I'm going to sign up for the counselor to call me Pokego and I'm not sure about the registering? Is that the same thing as signing up?
