hi need help get out my payday loans in nevada dixie

Dixie:

Please provide more information such as how much you owe in PDL's just principal only, are they store fronts, or internet. Someone that is familiar with your state laws (Nevada) will be along shortly to post them for you.

You have come to the right place for assistance.

Yes, you can close your account. You cannot get in trouble in your state unless you acted with criminal intent, which you aren't. You just can't handle it anymore.

The first thing you should do is ask the stores about a repayment plan. It's required by law for your state, plus most of the storefronts are probably members of the CFSA, which also requires it's members to let their customers enter into repayment plans. The refi fees stop, and you can pay down your balance over a period of months.

dixie, goudah posted that it would be okay to close your bank account. Doing a hard debit block might be the way to go if you can not close it for some reason. However, some store fronts will tell you that they have to send the check through and get it returned for NSF before they can make payment arrangements. Call the storefronts first. Tell them you can not pay in full and need to make payments. Some will just hold your check until you pay it off and then give you your check back. Others will tell you they have to have the check returned for NSF before they can work with you. Call them first and see what they have to say. Let us know how it turns out. :D

dixie, I totally understand. You don't want any NSF fees on your account. Putting a hard debit block on it would do it for you. The check would be returned to the storefront. And I'm not sure what it would be stamped as. It wouldn't be NSF. It might just be returned with nothing stamped on it. They'll just get it back. You might want to try that route until you get your storefronts under control. This way the checks won't be put through causing NSF and also it might help with making payment arrangements.

dixie, okay. You got your bank to put a hard debit block on it? Is that what they did? Why are you saying this is bad? It's okay. Just contact the storefronts. I know it seems ugly, but it'll be okay. Post if you need anything.

dixie, good! Please just inform them that you intend to pay the debt in full. You're just unable to pay in full. Please post as to what the results are after you speak with them. Remember to speak with the manager, okay?

dixie, if these storefronts are not willing to work with you regarding a payment plan, then you're going to just have to default on them, as much as I hate to say that. They stated that they have to send the checks through. Well, they're going to get their checks returned by your bank. They will then attempt to contact you regarding payment. You'll have to tell them again that you can not pay them in full. There is no way. They should either then (since they were turned in and rejected by your bank) be able to work out some sort of payment plan with you - or they will tell you that they are turning it over to their corporate office or collections office. If that is the case, they will contact you. You can then make payment arrangements with them. However, which ever direction they take you, if you do set up payment arrangements, please stick to the payment arrangements. Don't agree to pay any more than you can afford. Because if you set up payments and you defualt on the payments, they can then take further action, which just might include wage garnishment. So wherever they end up once they're returned by the bank, try to set up payments that you can afford and stick to those payments. Don't promise more than you can afford. And keep the payments up so that the storefronts don't take it any further and proceed with action regarding any kind of garnishment.

Well, I can't promise anything regarding the CFSA. We found another member who tried the CFSA because her storefront name is a member; however, her state does not have CFSA in place yet. So it's not in all states. As a matter of fact, the first sentence regarding the CFSA states: "Subjust to applicable state laws...." so I'm taking that to mean, it's not available in all states......

Well, dixie, I guess if the storefronts told you that they need to run them through the bank first (which a lot of them do that), then you can just sit back and wait. If that's their policy, is to run it through and have it returned, that's what they're going to do. In that case, when the check is returned, they'll contact you. Then you'll just tell them again (I know you already told them) that you can not pay them in full and have to make payments. If they can not do that for you at the store, then they will most likely send it to their corporate office. Then they will contact you. Then just tell them that you will have to make payments. In my experience, once it has been returned and I've been contacted and made payment arrangements, they've been a whole lot nicer than the actual manager at the storefronts. I'm hoping for the best here, dixie. But right now, all you can do is wait. It might take a little bit of time. They'll turn the checks in, they'll be returned, then they'll contact you. Like I said, when you are able to make payment arrangements, just be honest with them and only tell them what you can afford. They just want their money back. If you can arrange something that you can afford, then you'll be good. Right now, I guess we'll just wait for them to turn them in and have them returned.

dixie, I'm only hoping for the best for you. I'm sorry these storefronts are making it hard for you. But, with luck, once you're contacted again, it will be by the corporate office of these places. Which the corporate office is usually a whole lot nicer than the store manager is. Once you hear from ANYONE, please let us know what's going on, okay? I'll be waiting to hear from you. We can do this. It might get "ugly" for just a bit, but I'm praying we can get payment arrangments on every one of them that you can afford.

dixie, one of your cars is going to be repo'd? You are only two months behind? Is that what you're saying? Did the car people contact you and tell you they are going to repo it unless you paid them? Tell me what's happening.

Well, dixie, I'm thinking you can't come up with 270.00 by Friday, am I correct? When they contacted you, did they say they need 270.00 by Friday or they are coming to get the car? If they did contact you and say this, did you tell them you don't have the money? Maybe they can work with you? What did they tell you?

So they want you to bring the car to them? And you're only behind by 270.00? Is that what they're saying? I would hate to see you lose a car over $270.00.
