I had several illegal PDL's I took the advice of this website and the Oregon Attorney General's office and emailed letters stating that I knew that these loans were illegal and due to the fact that I had paid interest in exess of the loan amount, I would not pay them any more money.

I received letters form HZB Financial Services stating that they purchased my debt and I have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt. I need to know how to respond to them disputing the validity. I am looking for specific language that deals with illegal PDL's.

Also, Oregon requires CA's to be licensed by the state. I do not see that HZB has a license in the state. How do I get them to prove they are legally able to try and collect on this debt.

You can send a debt validation letter to HZB and ask them to validate the debt. You can get a sample copy of debt validation letter from the given page: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/letters/sample6.html

You may even ask them to send you documents proving that they are licensed in your state to collect the debts. However, whether or not they will send you the required documents regarding license will be their discretion.

Me again. Ok so I sent my validation letter certified mail, return receipt so I know they got it. Exactly one week after HZB received it, I started receiving voice mails from Catherine Holt claiming that she is investigating a case of wire fraud. The funny thing is, the "case" number she is using is the exact same number that HZB gave me as my customer number.

She is continually calling, claiming that she is from a legal department and is gathering information and needs to make a decision about moving this case forward. She states that unless I respond, she can no longer justify holding off and will press charges against me in my county court system.

I know she is full of bull, and there is absolutly nothing this company can do to me. But I need to know if I should respond to her phone calls or just ignore her. The little devil on my should is urging me to call and harass her as much as possible. Please advise.
