I have been recieving phone calls from a Jennifer Hammond an "investigator" for HZB financial?? She claims they sent me a letter at the beginning of March concerning a pdl I took from Titan group. I had to close my account due to checking acct problems and have been unable to find out who to pay the loan back to. I call Titan and left them a message with no reply. Jennifer at HZB is threatening to take legal action against me today if I don't get back to her and settle this debt. Can they in fact do this. The address she gave me that they supposedly sent the letter to was incorrect but close to an address I had previous to taking out the loan with Titan. They would not have had this address. Help, any advice?

Titan doesn't do its own collecting. It sells all of its debt to third-parties for a few cents on the dollar. HZB must have bought yours. Don't worry. Their game is to harass and annoy you into paying. They throw a lot of legal jargon (which any lawyer will tell you is meaningless) to make you think you're in trouble. Just avoid the calls and they'll fade away quickly.
