I have sent my CD letter to this company. I'm in Illinois and have already paid the principal amount back. I requested a PIF letter or a refund of what I over paid. I received an email back today that says: "We are not a pay day loan we are an installment loan company. Did you do this research before or after we gave you the money?"

How should I proceed?

Proceed by forwarding them a copy of the original contract, hopefully you kept that in your email inbox and it states it was a payday loan. Or perhaps you can go to their website, login, and look around for information which may state what type of loans they offer. Nevertheless, you NEED to locate the original contract and read it carefully. My best guess is this company is trying to pull a fast one on you because they are assuming you don't have the original contract which states it was a payday loan.

ok what i come up with (and someone plz correct me if I am wrong) for 800-899-cash is:

They are a company that puts you in touch with the PDL lenders. A third party adveristing company. They do not do the actual loans themselves.

When you go to their website and click on any of the Pay day loan links it takes you to a list of payday loan lenders.

So you need to figure out exactly which company your pdl is with.

One thing is for certain, if this company isn't licensed to lend to your state residents, and you know this for a fact, then I wouldn't even bother responding to them, I would simply tell them they have been warned, you will pay off the original amount borrowed on YOUR terms. Not sure how you plan to pay these people off but if it were me, I would send them payments with money orders via the mail. I would tell them, no addess, no payments. I simply wouldn't put myself through arguing with them, I would throw that offer out to them and let them decide what they wanted to do, and I would make it clear to them that the only contact I would have with them would be if they gave me an address to send payments.

I did have my contract. I read through it and it doesn't say anywhere on it that it's an installment loan or a payday loan. I went to the website and it says:

Payday Cash Loan - Get Payday Cash Loans
Applying for a cash advance is quick and easy!

Should I ignore the email or ask him why his website says Payday Cash Loan?
