Plain Green- original loan $500, then $700 over paid $597.50
Bottom Dollar- original loan $500, over paid $952.50
I contacted Plain Green by email and received a response back stating they closed my account. I contacted them by phone to inquire about my refund and was told it was being reviewed. Fingers crossed.
I contacted Bottom Dollar and instead of them closing my account, they withdrew $585. Do I have any recourse? Please help.
I hadn't given the bank the
I hadn't given the bank the copy of the email. They still have to credit my account after showing them the letter?
Did you revoke ACH priveleges
Did you revoke ACH priveleges?? Read the link in my signature line...both of these are illegal lenders. Try to fight it with your bank...talk to a branch manager...not a teller or personal banker.
I did revoke ACH privilege
I did revoke ACH privilege with both. I spoke with the fraud department who said the only way I can get my money back is to have the company put it back.
Since you revoked ACH rights
Since you revoked ACH rights under Reg E and Bottom Dollar violated that revocation, of course the bank needs to charge the payment back. The letter is your proof and you already should have give a copy to your bank
WRONG!!! Under federal law ,
WRONG!!! Under federal law , reg E of the FDIC, you as the consumer have the right to revoke ACH priveleges. Did you give a copy to your bank?? You need to talk to a manager...by law THEY need to return the debit. THEY would be in violation of federal law if they don't.

Finally! I talked to someone
Finally! I talked to someone at my bank and they are doing an investigation and will give me an answer in 2 business days on the Bottom Dollar charges. I'm not pursing the Plain Green as they stopped withdrawing and are reviewing my account for a refund. Thank you for your help.
I failed to mention that I live in Massachusetts where all these loans are illegal.
