Check Smart

I had a "law firm" call me today from saying that they represented checksmart, I had took a loan out 3 years ago and I was paying them until I fell on hard times and something had to give, I had all intentions of paying them back, but other things kept coming up and I kind of forgot about them and I haven't heard anything from them until today. I asked the woman for a letter of validation and she said that she wasan't going to give me one because they aren't a loan place they are the law office.. and they will start garnishing my wages, she wanted me to give her my banking infomation which I did not want to do because I have been a victim of fraud. What should I do?
Which state do you reside in? What an idiot! Creditors are not

What an idiot! Creditors are not supposed to give you DVs, collectors are. Even if they call themselves a law office, collectors are still collectors. Send a DV request in writing via CMRRR. You took the loan from a storefront, right? Settle for nothing less than a copy of the original loan contract as proof.
