I am trying to find contact information for a payday loan company. Money is being taken out of my checking account, the name in my account pops up as int'l payment svcs (IPS) does anyone have any idea how to contact them I really need to know.

I have already paid this company more than I owe, I took out a $200 dollar loan and have paid back double, I live in New York, what are my options to have this stop

You can follow the following: -

Quote:

Close your account asap, if you are unable to close your account, go into your bank and ask to speak with the Branch Manager, tell him/her you need a hard debit block placed on your account immediately! Explain that you are revoking ACH authorizations from unlicensed/illegal companies, and have learned these companies are notorious for ignoring revocation, therefore it is important to BLOCK any withdrawal attempts on your account to protect your interest. This is your privilege, do not accept no for an answer.

After closing your account please send the follwoing mail to the concerned pdl company: -

[quote]Date:

Name Of PDL

Your Name
City, State

After doing research regarding Internet payday loan laws in the State of _______, I have found that your Internet payday loans are actually illegal. I have also found the following laws to be true applying to payday loans in the State of _____ in general:

Your State Information

I hereby revoke any and all ACH authorizations with your company from debiting any of my personal accounts, per Federal law, Regulation E Section 205.10 Preauthorized transfers. I have closed my account with the XXXXXX to protect my interest in this matter, per instructions from The _____ Department of Finance. I also revoke any and all wage assignments I may or may not have signed with your company, I no longer authorize you, your company, or your affiliates to attach any part of my wages or contact my employer for your collection purposes. I have notified my employer about this matter so any attempts to do so on your part will be rejected.

I demand that any contact be made through US Postal mail or email only. I will need everything in writing to keep accurate records of all communication as per instruction from my Attorney General's Office.
I prohibit you or your affiliates to contact me via telephone at my place of employment or my home
telephone number. I also prohibit you from calling my references listed on my loan.

Due to the fact that Internet payday loans must be licensed in the state of ____ to be a legal and binding contract, your company should NOT issue loans to ____ residents at all. I am requesting that you send me your license number which enables you to offer loans to ____ residents.

The legal amount that could have been charged to my loan is the principal amount, even IF your Internet pay day loan were legal anywhere in the U.S.. I am willing to pay the principle amount of the loan only, however, this is only if you provide me with a physical address where I can send payments.

I must also inform you that I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and the ____ Attorney General's Office.

I expect a response from your company no later than 5 days from the above date regarding this matter. This response may only come via US Postal mail or email. No telephone contact is permitted.

Sincerely,

Your Name

Ohio Attorney General

Then file complaint to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Better Business Bureau (BBB).

I had the same problem that rj had locating International Payment Services. It turns out that IPS is just a call center servicer for many companies. The loan was actually through L&M Financial D/B/A 1000CashOvernight.com. The phone number for L&M is 801-635-8896, but the quickest resolution was to email the email address for L&M: lmfin1 @ gmail.com. Nobody else seemed to know what was going on. As far as PDL scum go, they were pretty prompt in their reply and resolution.

If the funds have not posted to your account by noon the next business day, please call our customer service department at 1-877-428-5050 or e-mail us at service @ intlpmt (dot) com.

Please keep in mind that your loan is set to auto-renew in accordance with your specified pay dates. Therefore, we will debit your account for the extension fee up to 6 (six) future paydays. Please note that the extension fee is INTEREST ONLY and will not pay down on the principal balance of your loan. After the 6 renewals, we will continue to renew the loan as well as deduct an additional $25 to be applied towards the principal balance of your loan until the loan is paid off. Your loan will automatically renew unless we hear from you by fax or e-mail.

To payoff or pay down on the principal of your loan please send written authorization by FAX to 1-877-904-5050, or e-mail to service @ intlpmt (dot) com at least 2 business days before your payment is due. When writing to us, please include: Your Social Security Number (no dashes), the amount you wish to pay, and the date you would like to pay it on.

Please acknowledge receipt of this email that you understand how the auto-renew process works.

Thank you for choosing International Payment Services!

I have been at battle with them since Nov, 2008. I closed my checking account, lost my job and they bother me every single day. I finially made payment arrangements. I borrowered $200 and now I owe $475. I pay using moneygram. They are very nasty, not professional at all. They threaten me to garnish my wages etc. I regret ever contacting them for help.

My advice is that if money is tight, do not use Moneygram. There is a pretty substantial fee for getting them thier money instantly. The other point that many miss is that by wiring the money, you remove the post office and the possible use of mail fraud if it should ever be determined to exist. Demand an address and use the postal system!!

I have also had the same issue with Int'l Payment Svcs...I only had a $200 loan with them and they have taken over $700 from my account. The bad thing about this company is that when I called to get the information they told me that my account was in collections, yet and still they have taken out $150 each pay period. I am fed up with this company and know for sure I have paid off my loan.

The best way to stop this from happening, is DO NOT TAKE OUT PAYDAY LOANS!!!!! If you need a loan go to a bank, these companies are vultures, you will only lose money by getting a loan through them. Once you give these people your account information, it's like putting them on your payroll, because you will never see a full paycheck again, as long as they have this information, they will debit your account. In fact, just don't use your account information on the interent period, it's not smart these days, anyone could debit out of your account, once that information is out online. Be careful with your money!

I gave the bank the name of the payday loans and to put a BLOCK ON ALL ACH WITHDRAWAL AND FUTURE.... And CLOSED THE CHECKING OR SAVING ACCOUNT right away. If you do not do this right away, you will be responsible for the overdrawn fees from the bank......From experience I am paying the price. It will cost more PDL charges plus the bank charge......

putting a block on any ach from them will usually not work. they have many names to go in and take money from. a better decision would be to put your account on deposit only. the best way to go is to close your account and make sure future ach will not push it back open. sadly, this is the only way to really make them stop.
if you want to contact them, there should be a contact number on your bank statement from them. but i would close the account first before any attempts on your end to contact them. believe me, when the account is closed they will contact you.

Concerning wage garnishment from IPS/1000 Cash Overnight:

If the payday is illegal in your state, how can they do wage garishment? Don't they have to show validation of "your debt" officially first in writing to you before this happens?

I took out a loan for $300 with this despicable company, and I have paid $75 every 2 weeks since January 20 and had ceased paying them since March 3, upon closing my account, totaling $300 in payments. the exact amount I had borrowed. I sent the cease and desist letter on March 16 after closing my bank and speaking to the Attorney General's Office and filing a complaint with FTC. I even told them if I owed any more to them, I would pay them back via MONEY ORDER only.

They supplied an address, but I am not legally bound to pay back more than the principal if the loan was illegal, am I? If so, then I don't have to pay any more to them. That was what I was told by the AG. He also said to propose they apply MA's usary cap APR of 23% to the principal if they're trying to collect interest.

These companies must be aware Internet payday loans are illegal in the state of MA. I actually sent each company the information in the email as well. Can IPS/1,000 Cash Overnight still try wage garishment? I have paid them the $300 originally borrowed.

What else should I do to prevent them from garnishing my wages? Should I contact my payroll department about them?

Please respond asap.

Thank you!
Tom
