If they are threatening garnishment, remember, they will need to go to court first and get a court order from a Judge BEFORE they can actually garnish your wages. Now, wage assignment is a completely different thing, they CAN and WILL evoke a wage assignment if you don't revoke it first. All you need to do is send them a letter (email works) and tell them you are revoking any and all wage assignements you may or may not have signed. It's perfectly legal and your right to do so, then, show a copy of this letter to your employer, your now covered unless these companies DO take you to court. The thing is, if these companies are illegal, they are blowing smoke up your behind because they can't and WON'T go to court if they are illegal.
