Was this by chance a loan from Rt. 66 Funding? They pulled the same crap on me recently - called my work demanding $4000 for a loan of $200 that was paid in full back in 2005.

This is definitely a scam, and they can't get you for anything - they must be running low on clients and money lately, because this is not the first time I've heard of them doing this.

Actually I never had a loan from them...this scam is coming from overseas. There is a website called 800 notes...if you put this number 410-505-8128 in your browser it will take you straight to it. There are a number of people on there that has had the exact same thing happen to them that happened to me. However the moderator on there stated this is a scam and should be reported to the local authorities and the FBI.

This is scarey..There are those people out there that would be so intimadated that they would pay the money not realizing it is a scam.

To update this post..this person who calls himself Daniel Page has called two more times to the school. Our receptionist informed him the second time that I can not accept personal calls at work unless it's an emergency. He told her it was for a payday loan I took out in October 2005 and I was in legal trouble and to have my lawyer call. I thought it was nice of him to fill her in on the details...she told him not to call again. Yesterday he called again and wanted to speak with me immediately she once again told him not to call anymore and contact me at home..he said he didn't have that information. She told him she was not permitted to give out employeed information and hung up. I now have filed a report with the FBI and my local police dept. I am hoping we can find a way to block this phone number from coming into the school...maybe they can contact the phone company. Any suggestions??

you did fine with the fbi and police reports.these jokers will still call though,they think they are above the law.just keep on them.

Thanks Paul. I am hoping that there can be more charges pressed against them just for calling a school. Possible terrorism threats. We'll see what the FBI does.

That's just terrible, so now we have to worry about our personal information possibly being given out to scammers? Sheesh, this is sooooooooo maddening!
