Have you mailed it yet????
Have you mailed it yet???? If not, dont...
They are breaking the law...it is not bank fraud.
What state do you live in?? Who did you borrow from, how much did you borrow and how much did you pay back? Do you know if the loan is even legal????
I mailed it certified mail,
I mailed it certified mail, return receipt requested. It was for the balance of the principal ($150.00), which in reading these posts was recommended. I live in Maryland. The loan is for $500, which was renewed twice at $175.00 each time. I borrowed from SplashCashAdvance which claims Sovereign Immunity. The guy was so nasty and told me he was going to tell my employer that I commited bank fraud.
Sovereign Immunity is BS...
Sovereign Immunity is BS....you did right. Stay off the phone. Have you done the ACH and voluntary wage assignment revocations??
You may also want to contact
You may also want to contact the Maryland Commission of Financial Regulation, 500 North Calvert St., Balto., Md. 21202, 410-230-6100, finreg@dllr.state.md.us as payday lending is illegal in MD.
well actually
i wouldn't have sent a penny for as soaplady stated sovereign immunity is BS and the idiot who called broke the law.i would keep tabs on whether they cash the money order or not.they still can sit on it so since you can stop payment up to 30days on a money order so if they don't cash it get that money back.do as soaplady says and get ACH revocation letters ready, and get the wage assignment revocation to your employer.also as soaplady stated stay off the phone from now on.
I sent a ACH revocation
I sent a ACH revocation letter to them on 3/20/13; I sent the $150.00 money order today, certified mail, return receipt requested. I included the revocation of ACH and wage assignment. I must have been in a letter writing mood the last few days. I also sent a letter to the Attorney Generals Office and the Commissioner of Financial Regulations urging them to order illegal PDL companies to Cease and Desist issuing Payday loans in Maryland. Where this will get me, I don't know....but at least it was something proactive.
