I live in Iowa and have several pay day loans. I just closed my checking account due to all of the overcharging and debiting my account and I am scared out of my mind. I have paid back the borrowed amount on all of the loans and just last week one of them tried to take another $615 out of my account. When I think about all of the money I have wasted and thrown away it makes me sick. My phone has been going crazy today with calls and I hope I did the right thing. Should I contact them and let them know that I will not be paying anymore or what should I do???

If the PDL companies are illegal in your state, just let them know that you're revoking all ACH authorizations. Tell them that, as per law, you're not paying a penny more than the actual amount borrowed. Ask for a PIF and a refund.
