You need to pull out your bank statements and find out for yours
You need to pull out your bank statements and find out for yourself. Look at how much was deposited and how much you paid back each time. Anything over the actual deposit is an overpayment. Take all your overpayments and subtract those from your current loan. If you owe a balance, offer to pay it in your illegal lender letter. I suggest only paying via money order though the mail or via a pre-paid debit card. If they owe you, ask for a refund. You should also detail all of this out for them in the letter so they can see how much you've paid them. I would also file a complaint with the FTC and with the Iowa Attorney General's office. Share the details of overpayment with them as well. Have you closed your checking account? That is the MOST important thing you need to do. Once these people have even a slight inkling that they may not be able to get their hands on your money, they will drain your account. Protect yourself first. File complaints second. Then contact these companies and make your demands.
