A collection company called me reguarding a payday loan from 2002 for $500 and said i owe them $1000 it was written in Florida and I now live in Illinois they said if I dont pay they will contact the IRS and report it as income. What r my rights?

If so, what State were you living in at the time, what was the name of the PDL company(s), how much did you borrow and how much did you pay back? Do you have the name/tel. # of the collection company that called you? If you can provide this info, the experts here can better advise you.
