I took out a payday loan online from White Plains in January and they have been draining my bank account weekly. As of today I have paid up $1200 for a $500 loan and they say that I still owe $700 if I can pay off the amount in lump sum. Otherwise I will have to pay $1200 including interest if I want to pay it off in the next 3 months. I am tight on cash and I just had my work hours reduced. Please help. Can I settle this account through a DMP?

What state do you live in? Non-payment of debt is not a criminal offense. It???s a civil case. So you can never go to jail for that. You should find out whether or not the pdl company is licensed in your state. If not, then you are required to pay them only the principal. Ask them for the refund, as you have overpaid them. Close your bank account asap to stop unauthorized withdrawal. Look at this page to know about how to deal with illegal lenders:

spaceblank this is a tribal lender and therefore illegal no matter what state they are in.now to the OP.do click the link spaceblank provided as you not only don't owe.they owe you the 700.00.btw an ACH is not a check.an ACH can be revoked per the EFTA(electronic funds transfer act).click the link demand refunds, and file AG,AND FTC complaints as the law was broken with the arrest threat.then only correspond via email if possible.do not talk with them on the phone as all they want do is threaten.not worth your time.
