I HAD set up payment arrangements with the payday loans to begin tomorrow. I have closed my bank account so that they won't go through.
Question...should I inform the companies that I have declared bankruptcy and closed my account? Or just let the payments be returned as a closed bank account and then tell them when they contact me? I'm afraid if I just wait and let them contact me that they will start calling me at work.
I'm just not sure what I should do. I feel like I HAVE to get my life in order or I'll never have anything in life. Please help !

Are your payday loans even legal? What state do you live in? What are the names of your lenders? How much did you borrow from each? How much have you paid to each thus far?

I live in Mo and I believe they are ALL legal.
They are Star Loans (in KC), Check into Cash, Check City, American Check Cashers, Speedy Cash, CashnetUSA and an installment loan with Check n Go. I have paid thousands and thousands of dollars to all of them. I have almost had a payday loan of some sort for almost 10 years. Things are out of hand now.
The Check n Go installment loan worries me. I called to see if I could skip a payment and they told me that I could double up a payment This means that on the next payment I'd have to pay double OR if I didn't have it then...I could call and delay it again. I told them I'd think about it. I couldn't afford the payment and called them back and set up the double payment. When the next payment was due, I called and was going to delay the payment again. They told me their policy had changed and I couldn't do that anymore. Grrrrrr! I was told I could refinance it...so, that's what I did. I haven't even made one payment on the new loan yet. They are going to be mad.
Any advice is appreciated.

I forgot to tell you how much I had ORIGINALLY borrowed from each.
Star Loans $200
Check into Cash $200
Check City $500
American Check Cashers $500
Speedy Loan $350...although I have that down to about $250
Cashnet USA $260 is what is still owed
Check n Go originally loan amt was for $1000, but the new one I took out was for $1250
Thanks!

I believe you're correct about the loans all being legal. If your lenders can't work with you and/or you simply can't afford to make payments, and you have no other options for acquiring the money then, bankruptcy might be your best option.
