Kris, yes yes yes. Keep everything. You know that these PDLs will sometimes pop up after years. I would keep it all.

I have all my emails printed out because you never know when the computer will crash or anything like that. What I did was paperclip all the emails, letters etc for a particular company together. When you print your emails out it will have all the inforamtion on them, such as email addresses, dates etc.
As far as how long to keep the information, I would keep it for a while. You never know when these people may pop back up and try to get you again for something that has been paid in full. You will have proof that it was PIF.
Hey there!!! I ditto kash and 2nband....keep them for years!

Oh my yes..Just like tax papers. Keep them for a very long time..Like 7 years. Put them in a folder in a filing cabinet. And..for the record..If you ever get a refund, cash it at wal-mart. Never ever cash it in your bank account. It's worth the $4 fee for the peace of mind, trust me! :D

krist, you can keep them in your email folders; however, print them out also. Hell, save them on one of those USB drive thingy's. I have mine in my email, printed out, and saved on a USB. If I need to email the PIF to the stupid idiots again, I can. If I need to fax the PIF to the stupid idiots, I have a hard copy I can throw on the fax. And, TAKE IT ALL TO THE GRAVE WITH YOU!
I did the same thing...I have everything printed and in folders.
I did the same thing...I have everything printed and in folders. Each side of a folder hasinfo on a different ipdl. I plan on keeping them forever...for documentation and to remind me of the stupid mistake I made...every time I see those folders in my desk drawer it reminds me to be more careful with my info and my money!

Ditto on what the others said! I had a CA contact me 10 years later on a bill that was paid off- and I had no proof!! Keep copies, in fact, I made copies of my copies and put them in a seperate place in case something happened to them in the filing cabinent call me paranoid

Yeah- and that caused a really big problem! I had no idea what month or even year I had paid them, so couldn't get proof. Finally after it passed to many CAs, one lady whispered to me "You didn't hear this from me, but write a cease and desist letter that this debt is paid and to never contact you again regarding this debt" I did that, and never heard from any of them again!karen this was a couple of years before I found this forum..
