NCA and Kenwood
Date: Sun, 01/29/2012 - 11:04
So, now I got a letter from NCA saying that they purchased the Kenwood Account and that I owe $590.00.
How do I approach this? Kenwood Services is not legal in my state.
Thanks, Paula
Also not legal
If I am correct in my understanding, trying to collect a debt that is illegal is also illegal as well. Please forward them your ACH revocation letter; ask for them to verify the debt (believe called Dunning letter) then advise that collecting an illegal debt is also illegal and that you will report them to your local AG and office financial regulation, unless they write you and advise they are dropping this account (If you have not reported this to your local AG and OFR, do so ASAP)
*I am newer here so possibly a more senior member will elaborate further.
Good luck - my journey began here a week ago and nervous too.
Since your lender in not legal in MO, so you are required to pay
Since your lender in not legal in MO, so you are required to pay back only the principal to the NCA. You have done the right thing by closing down your bank account. Don???t worry, they can???t take any legal action against you, since they are illegal.
do this
since you have a letter from NCA send a letter stating that they purchased an illegal debt in your state, and you only owe 20.00 on this and they should prove otherwise.in short send a DV(debt validation)letter.there is a good template in SOAPLADY'S signature.btw spaceblank please again don't advise if you don't know.believe it or not NCA does have license in some states.that means even on an illegal debt they can attempt to sue so quit posting that info as it is not entirely correct.
