I have an outstanding PDL - one of the many that I'm working to start repaying the principle on. I reside in KY and internet loans are illegal.
My initial focus has been repaying my installment lenders.
Yesterday I received an email message from Greenpicket. I had a loan with them that defaulted mid-July. The princple on the loan is $300. I received an email message from them indicating that I had to make 2 paymnents of $150 each with a specific due date. I'll do my best to accomodate this request, however, in all honesty this lender isn't one of my priorities right now (installment loans first).
I communicated with them indicating that I'd pay the principle of the loan when I could and in affordable amounts to me. It was like speaking to someone who didn't understand the english language as they basically resent the same email message to me again requesting 2 payments of $150 by a specific due date.
So I pretty much emailed them the same information again, I'll repay as i can and in amounts affordable to me.
Greenpicket will only provide me an address to their processor and not their address. Is it okay to send a money order to the processor or should it be the physical street address?
Am I okay to stand my ground with making payments in the amount that I can afford?

I learned from a debt negotiation service that I'm going through that internet loans that are illegal cannot prosecute you for any reason. I live across the river in Indiana and here its actually illegal for licensed payday lenders in the state to prosecute. Before I came here this morning I was too timid to deal with them myself, which is why I hired a third-party company, but one would not stop calling and harassing me so I came here and learned how to be an a-hole. Let me tell you it feels good and its fun. Take a look at this thread, send the letter and don't put it off. This afternoon around 2 p.m. I got a call from this creditor. They confirmed my name and then she opened my account, apologized for calling, and hung up. I don't know about you, but I think that is freaking awesome!

Absolutely. I'm not sure who I'm more angry at, the payday loan companies or the marketing companies that promote them. When I applied for a loan I got three separate loans adding up to what I thought I was trying to borrow. I was being charged three times the renewal fees I thought. They kept telling me I needed to finish my app and after the second one I figured it out and stopped in the middle of the third and I still got the loan!
