I have multiple PDL's. Some online, some storefront. I live in KY & know that the online PDL's are illegal but I cannot close my acct due to SS direct deposit.
What I am looking for is a REPUTABLE PDL consolidation company that actually wipes these out & doesn't charge you an arm & a leg. I just want to pay these off & be done with them FOREVER!!!!!

On top of it all I just got a letter from SS telling me that they overpaid me by $3600 last year & they want to either stop my checks for 3 months or I can pay them back at the rate of $100 a month for 36 months. HOW NICE OF THEM. Now you see why I've GOT to get out from under PDL HELL NOW.

I am sorry to say that the only way to get them to stop debiting your accountis to close it or you could try freezing it or putting a hard debit block on it if your bank will work with you like that until you can get your direct deposit changed. I am sure ss will work with you on changing accounts, people change bank accounts all of the time.

If you go with a debt consolidtion company first of all most pdl companies are not going to work with them, second the first thing they are going to tell you is to close your bank account and go open a new one. And you'll end up paying them a lot of money to do what you could do yourself.

What are the names of the pdls you are dealing with? Have you read the sticky on dealing with illegal lenders? It describs step by step what to do with links to sample letters.

I know it will be a pain in the behind to close out your account but everything said above is true, you really need to close that account. If all of these lenders are illegal what makes you think they would negotiate with a consolidation or debt relief company, they won't because they think they are above the law.
