I am just starting the process of sending letters and closing my account please keep us updated on your progress. Are they harassing you by phone? Are you saying you have been contacting them trying to make payment arrangements and they will not negotiate? What state do you live in and have you checked to see if all of your lenders are legal? I am encouraged by this forum and really think if you put in the time and effort (I will be doing the same) you can resolve these issues without paying someone else to do it for you.

I live in Illinois. I can deal with the phone calls but not at my work. I don't think any of them are legal but I am feeling a little discouraged because I guess I am not one for confrontation and I just freeze up when I do speak with anyone on the phone.

Well I think for the time being, I will keep on this myself. I got a letter from my Illinois attorney general saying they are going to contact them with my complaint. I am going to be more aggressive and see if I can do this myself. I figure, I can use the money I was going to pay Langhorne for some settlements(fair settlements of course)
