Eastside Lenders

Upon reading some of the threads in re Eastside Lenders, I am finding that they are not legal in California?
I took out a $400 loan in June, and have one payment to go to pay them off, however, I have paid nearly $900 in the finance fees! Can I email them now before the last payment is taken out, and tell them that I owe them nothing, and in fact they owe me because they are not legal? Please adivse. Time is sensitive, I'm coming up on a pay day.
Thank you!!

They are illegal and you have paid more than the original principal borrwed. You must close your bank account, obtain a new one, not linked in any way with the old account. Send out ACH revocation letters to them as well as give copy to your bank. On this site, click on Forums, then click on payday loan help, then click on sticky on how to deal with illegal lenders. Close your bank account before sending out letters. You must also demand a refund.
