Help! My parents tried to have the pdl's stopped on their account, but the bank didn't stop them in time and now we don't have enough for rent. If we pay rent late, our landlord my kick us out. It's looking like we have to get more pdl's. Which we DON'T want to do, but we are desperate! We have accounts are our new bank and they are trying to get us a loan, but they were supposed to call us today and they haven't. I have no idea what to do and our landlord will most likely be highly upset if the rent is late again. (it was late in October and December, even though we paid the late fees.) If the rent is late again, our landlord will not be happy. Not to mention that we are two months behind on our car and Capital One Auto Finance will most likely be taking the car soon if we can't get those payments together. Yes, we're also very much behind on electric, phone/internet and cable. (though the latter isn't very important in my mind.) My mother is talking about getting more payday loans which I don't want to to..:/ We are between a rock and a hard place here... Any suggestions? We are definitely in dire straits here. :(

Thanks,
Kelly

Welcome. You really can't stop payments on payday loans...it doesn't usually work. Most of us had to close our accounts in order to stop the withdrawals. But first could you give us a little more info? If you could list the names of the pdls you have, whether they are internet or store front, how much the loan was for and how much you have paid back so far including fees. We may be able to help you with some suggestions on how to get out from under.

Now as far as the landlord. It will take time before he can out you out. So be honest and tell him you are late and when you will have it to him. Make arrangements on your other bills and stick to it. Household bills and food should always come before unsecured debt...especially in the case of payday loans. Get us the above info and we will see where you stand and what info we can give you.

Can you list the names of all the places you have payday loans with?

How much was borrowed from each place?

How much have you paid back to each one?

Since rollovers are not allowed, you may have already paid them more than you should have.

Please discourage your parents from taking out another payday loan. It will only continue to make things worse and they will never get a head.

As suggested, talk to your landlord and all the creditors and explain your situation. Some may be able to help you out some and work with you. Don't put things off any longer. The longer you wait, the worse things will be. Hang in there. This can get under control, but it will require some work. If you can provide us with the information asked, we can go from there.

Here they are. I actually have them listed on another thread here, but things have gotten more desperate since then. I also found out that all but Advance America have loaned to me illegally because they've been rolling over my loans, which means the refinance fees should have been applied to what I owe, which they haven't. We are also working on closing our accounts with our Credit union. My parents and I have opened new accounts at another bank, but because of where payday fell for my father and I, the pdl's were able to take money out of my parents acct. ameriloan took 4 separate payments of different amounts (my father has a loan with Ameriloan too, but I'm not sure of the amount.) Oneclickcash took out 3 separate payments. So of the over $800 that was deposited into my parents acct, only $200 of it is left. I can call the landlord, but I'm not sure if she would work with us or not. Actually she likes it to be in on the 1st, but by law I believe the grace period gives us until the 5th. The rent check bounced by accident once and she was ready to kick us out. (now we deposit cash into her account) Thankfully, her room-mate was able to calm her down that time and get her to talk to us and find out what the story was behind the situation. I am not really sure what to say to her, and I don't want her telling my grandmother, because my grandmother gave us money last time to get the pdl's paid off. Unfortunately, we fell into the cycle all over again when we had over $500 in vet bills for our cat and couldn't pay the bills. Yes, she has told my grandmother things before that she really had no business telling my grandmother. My grandmother used to live with us in the apartment we have now, and she got her own place when my father came back from living in another state. Sounds complicated, doesn't it? Well, that's about it I think.

Thanks,
Kelly (Sheep15)

fth, you need to concentrate on your storefront loan. You need to get your bank accounts CLOSED. Your internet loans are sucking you dry with illegal fees. I see you have ameriloan and One Click Cash. Not licensed/legal. I'm not sure of PayDay Services (that's a new one on me). AIP is easy to work with once you start "the fight" with them. First off, get your bank accounts taken care of so these internet pdls can no longer access your accounts. Second, get with your storefront to make arrangements for payment. You need to gain control over your money right now.

How much in each of these in finance fees? Since your state does not permiat rollovers, you may have already paid down or even paid off the principal plus the finance fees allowed by law.

Do take care of your bank account and get control over your money as was mentioned. Most internet payday loans are not legal, as many of us have found out. Now just be prepared for a bunch of harrassing phone calls and such, because these companies WILL harrass you and threaten you. Do not be scared and know that when they tell you that there is going to be someone at your door in 15 minutes to put you in jail, there isn't. They like to use all kinds of threats. Concentrate on the store front and get it taken care of, get yourself back on track, figure out how much in fees you have paid the internet ones and post and let's see where you are at.

Well, with ameriloan and Payday Services, I believe I have paid more than the amount I owe because I currently have a second loan out with each of them, but my grandmother gave me the money for the entire 1st loan amounts plus the finance fee they asked for to pay them off, and since I had already paid tons of finance fees, I'm sure I overpaid on the last two. I'm going to look at my back bank statements to see exactly what I paid to them, because I think some of what I paid to the first loans should be put towards the loans I have out currently! It makes me angry to think that my grandmother gave me money for these people, when they were acting illegally in this state and she shouldn't have had to give me the money because they should have been applying the finance charges to my loan! And, as for the bank account, I can't close it out right now because my account has a negative balance. One interesting thing I found out though, apparently Payday Yes and Payday Services are the same company! My father has a loan out with Payday Yes, and the number they left on the answering machine is exactly the same as the number for Payday Services! Verrry, verrry interesting I say! And as of this moment, my father has not taken any more loans out yet, though we have no idea how we're going to pay the rent. :( He can take out loans if he wants, but I want nothing more to do with them! Especially since I found out they're operating illegally. I don't want anything to do with anything illegal! Thanks to everyone for your comments and concerns.

Kelly
