If I am responsive on my phone to their calls, will they leave my references alone when I default?

I haven't defaulted yet, but will this friday (I closed my account, and dont want any phone calls going to coworkers or my parents.

I'm not sure about them calling your references, but did you read this information in the Payday Loan section before closing your bank account? http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/close-account.html

I'm sure that someone with more knowledge in this area will be along to answer your question about your references. Good luck!

It depends . . . . Sometimes they will call your references just to try and harrass you.

One thing you can do to mitigate the embarrassment in case they do call is this:

Tell your coworkers and parents that you discovered that someone stole your ID and took out some loans in your name. That way when/if the companies call, they won't think it's about you.

One place called a reference but luckily I gave my own cell phone number instead of a legit one. ahaha.
i found that once i sent out all of the reports (BBB, AG, FTC), they do behave a little better. Right now I'm having an awful time with Geneva Roth, but even they're not as bad as I feared.
