It depends . . . . Sometimes they will call your references just to try and harrass you.
One thing you can do to mitigate the embarrassment in case they do call is this:
Tell your coworkers and parents that you discovered that someone stole your ID and took out some loans in your name. That way when/if the companies call, they won't think it's about you.

i found that once i sent out all of the reports (BBB, AG, FTC), they do behave a little better. Right now I'm having an awful time with Geneva Roth, but even they're not as bad as I feared.

Watch out for Geneva Roth Bea2ls . . . . . They have a nasty habit of finding new bank accounts and debiting when you least expect it. Please don't ever put all your money into the same account. And if at all possible, use a bank that doesn't use Chexsystems.
