Quite a few pdl's will tell you that you will be, just to scare you into paying up fast. Do not beleive them, it's a lie!

You can face criminal charges in Missouri for payday loans, if you close your account or put a stop on the payment. So there are states where criminal prosecution is allowed on payday loan debt.

That's only in cases where there is fraud . . . The laws are not meant to prosecute someone that has paid and paid in fees and is just trying to get control. Those laws are meant to prosecute someone that takes out a payday loan and immediatly closes the account to try and defraud the payday loan company.
