Stopping ACH for Payday Loans in Missouri
Date: Sun, 04/22/2012 - 08:55
I'm on the payday loan merry-go-round from hell, my own fault, and I'm trying to rectify it but I just keep getting deeper. I know of 4 PDL companies that I have loans with are illegal in Missouri. Any suggestions?
I'm currently overdrawn in my BOA account but they say I can make payment arrangements and I'm meeting with them tomorrow.

Read the link in my signature link...it has info on ACH revocation. Do it today (email it) and then take a copy with you to the bank tomorrow. The bank MUST abide by your revocation.

Thank you, that is helpful information. But is it legal in Missouri to revoke an ACH? I know I cannot close the account legally.
ACH revocation is FEDERAL LAW, under REG E. You are not closing
ACH revocation is FEDERAL LAW, under REG E. You are not closing the account, you are simply stopping ACH priveleges, which is your legal right.
Banking Experience
Hello...I wanted to share my recent unpleasant banking experience at First Community Credit Union in Missouri. I went to let them know I was revoking all ACH privileges and wanted to close the account. They had already allowed some ACH submittals to be returned and I accumulated several NSF fees.
I agreed to pay these, but wanted all activity stopped. They told me I would have to issue a stop payment on each one for a charge of 25.00 plus clear the present NSF fees. I was told the account would remain open even if other ACHs were submitted. I would have to clear those fees too.
The lady I talked to was very condescending, especially when she looked at the account and saw they were PDLs. I pulled everything inside me to remain measured and tried to get them to work with me.This was one of the worst experiences with a business in my life. I then received a notice about the NSF fees needing to be cleared within 10 days or they would close the account. Unbelievable madness!

You need to talk to a manager....you do NOT have to pay for stop payments for ACH revocation...this is federal law. Hopefully you have given them copies of all your ACH revocations....go back and talk to the branch manager...not a personal banker.
