It's been a long while since my last post here, but you all were a blessing to me when I was going through my own PDL drama. The only after-effect I deal with on occasion are PDL scammers who call me pretending to be from some crime unit or legal investigator, warning me of a "claim against my name and social security number" and pending lawsuit--even going as far as to give me a date and time that I will be "picked up to go to court" or that "papers will be forwarded to the my county".

Funny thing is, they never have all their facts. They can never tell me which PDL they're referring to and they always give the name of a PDL company I never worked with. The most recent call that I've received three times this week is supposedly from the "offices of Lewis and McCarthy". Lo' and behold, I can't find an address, and the California number they called from is no good. I was given a local number and spoke to a guy who said I was going to be sued for a bad check I supposedly wrote back in 2009--the "bad check" being a PDL loan I got from Kenwood Services.

This would be the same Kenwood Services that I filed a complaint with the attorney general about and got a letter from their attorneys stating that they ceased operations and the matter regarding me was closed. When I reiterated this to the guy on the phone, he started getting mouthy and telling me I can bring my copy of the letter to court and he's not going to argue with me and yada-yada.

How are these fools going to go court with no physical business address on record?

Anyone else deal with these scum?

Well, based on some of the recent posts here at the forum it seems as though these illegal lenders are on a roll, people are being bombarded with all kinds of calls, threats of jail, court, bad check fraud, and, well, you name it. It's a shame that our state officials are not doing anything about it besides letting the media know they have issued cease and desist orders against them.

But, please don't let it discourage anyone from continuing sending in those complaints!

No, they didn't have accents for once..lol! But I've done some research and other people have been called and threatened by the same people in the same fashion. And I can't find any physical address..no shocker there.

If I keep getting threatening calls, I will file a FTC complaint against them and let them know I'm doing it.

I am seeing everyone getting bombarded with their calls and I don't want to jinx myself, but I am afraid I have not been contacted by anyone yet. The only company that contacted me was Detex agency for mypaydayloan.com with a bogus amount of 846.98. I got emails from nationwide telling me they are licensed by the treaty or some crazy stuff. I got a PIF from money2advance.com, Haven't heard anything from

integrity advance other than the one call I got but haven't heard anything since
eastside keeps sending me emails where its 230. the n 195.00( like get it right!)
so I guess I will be getting bombarded soon.

I have been getting calls from them also, very threatening. saying they will put a hold on my bank account and report me to chexsystems. I did a pdl from a company and then all of a sudden there was more money deposited from a company i did not authorize nor acknowledge. they couldn't provide me with a signed loan doc as i didn't go thru them. I think they just run with the infor without authorization. It scared me at first and i did put a stop on that company when i found out who they were. They also said it was from nov 09 which it wasn't and it wasn't a check. they said they were going to serve me between such and such a time but of course didn't. What has anyone done about this? They are very rude and threatening.

[COLOR=black]I received a lot of calls from these people, threatening me by stating that someone was coming to serve me papers, which is crazy when is the last time someone called you to let you know you were going to be served. Then on Friday then left a message stating I needed to call their office ASAP and talk to the manger or they would have to pursue my employer! These people are crazy! Not to mention I have not had a payday loan since July 2009 I think. Now that I am trying to straighten my credit out it seems like many people are trying to get in contact from me that I have no heard from in like five years. It makes me feel as if I will never be able to get it all together?![/COLOR]

Just simply and politely tell them to immediately stop calling or they are in violation of the law. Also tell them that you listen to Clark Howard and that he referred you. I guarantee they will stop calling.Trust thisfriend in Los Angeles
