Do they have to give any advance notice for taking my wages?
Is there a max they can take per paycheck or can they leave me with nothing?
I'm scared I'm not going to get a paycheck this week and freakin' out. The owner said he would make a payment arrangement/settlement with me of $500 to keep from suing me but the loan was only $250. I feel like he's threatening me to extort me like that. The fees should only be:
$250 for loan
$67.50 for 2 wks interest
$67.50 for another 2 wks interest
$40.00 returned check fee
$40.00 late fee
He said he would settle for no less than $500 by Friday or he's suing me for $900 for "collections efforts" fees.
I'ts Liberty Lending with only two offices that I know of...one in St George, UT and another in Cedar City, UT. I need help.

Have one more question about the legality of the loan...
I read the payday loan laws of Utah. It says the max term of the loan is 2 weeks right??? A few years ago I had a payday loan from a different place and THAT place (QC) made me sign new paperwork every two weeks and give them new checks every two weeks to renew the loan because the max allowable time period is 2 weeks.
This place only took one check back in March...yet I have been making payments on the SAME LOAN for at least 8 weeks without rolling it over, without signing new paperwork, etc.

Isn't Liberty Lending an installment loan type of company, if they are then the payday lender laws wouldn't apply to them, but, you can still revoke the wage assignment legally. You should also revoke any and all rights to debit ANY of your accounts, also.

Crystal, Crystal. Isn't it true that Liberty did not threaten you to pay $500 by Friday but rather said something along the lines of "You have always been a great customer and we will be happy to take payments on this and take a reduced balance to get this taken care of." And isn't it true that when you pointed out an error in math that Liberty saw you were correct, apologized and corrected the error and then stayed on the phone with you for close to 40 minutes (not once, but twice)working through each number to help you understand the balance? This was not your first loan with Liberty nor your first payday loan in St. George, let's not pretend now that you have stopped paying that you don't understand what's happening. Like everyone else, when you choose to stop paying bills with no communication to your debtors, there are collection costs. Did you ever contact Liberty and tell them that you were in financial trouble and to not deposit the checks? That they would be returned? Liberty has an amazing track record of stopping interest and forgiving loans for customers that are over burdened. Liberty works with every customer that works with them. Until, they are forced to put them in collections. At that point, there are other people that have to be paid and their hands are tied.

I got a loan with these people about v3 yrs ago$1,000.I paid on this faithfully for about a year then got into some trouble and couldnt stay current. They had me come in to work it out.I was aked to make two checks $500.00 each and instead of me making a couple payments to catch up i walked out with a few hundred dollars.About $300 i recall.I know it was stupid but at the time i was desperate.I went on paying a few months then got hurt in an accident and could not work.Could not pay!I was summond to court and a judgement made against me, I didnt show.Later a warrent was issued for my arrest, i was arrested and had to post $1,000 bail which was given to Liberty.I had intended to file bankruptcy since there is no way i can ever pay off my debts i had before my accident. At this point i have paid them over$4600 and the court ordered me to pay over$2700 more. This is $7300 for a $1000 loan.Well i agreed to pay $20/mo.which i have done for 3 mo.I was late 2 days this month and they went to the court and honerable miller took all the money from my bank acct almost$800.I have other obligations How can one creditor be allowed to take everything?
