Payday Loans in California

Castle Pay Day Borrowed $600.00 paid $210.00 x 3 for total of $630. All going to interest,still shows I owe $600.00 + $210.00 in finance charge
Blue King Borrowed $300.00 have already paid $935.25. Still shows I owe $120.00 principal.
Everest Cash Advance borrowed $300.00 have paid $869.00 Still shows $286.00 Balance
Great Plains Lending borrowed $500.00 have paid $904.68
shows I still owe $258.14
White Hills Cash borrowed $455.00 first payment of $135.00 coming up on 2/15/13.
Are all of these companies licensed in Ca?? I just joined Debtcc community and learned that loan extensions are illegal in CA. What should my next step be to stop paying these loans??
Update on PDL's
So I went ahead and closed my bank acct. and sent letters to all lenders. All of them are illegal in CA, none have a CA license. White Hills sent me an e-mail the same day saying that state law doesn't apply to them bla,bla bla but agreeing to my terms to pay off only loan principal. Also stating they would immediately stop ACH withdrawls.
I got an automatic e-mail response from Blue King saying that a rep. would contact me sonn. Haven't heard from them. I tried to log in to my account and it shows account closed.
Great Plains sent e-mail confirming my account closed per my request, with no further ACH debits to my account.
Everest Cash & Castle pay day have not responded yet, but accounts are closed as I could not login to them anymore. I sent all e-mails out on 2/14/13 and have not gotten a single phone call except for an automated one from White Hills, but I have e-mail from them accepting my terms.
It feels great to finally get rid of this burden. Thanks so much for this website.
Has anybody actually gotten a refund check from any PDL company for overpayment?? I don't have much hope, but just wondering. Thanks again everybody!

Welcome! I am also in California and can tell you the following: the legal maxium is $300. Normally, the lender would give you $255 and charge you $45 in fees. Although our policy is to pay back your loan principle (what you actually borrowed), I can see that you have most definately overpaid the first four lenders on your list and should stop paying them immediately. All you owe White Hills Cash is $455. Since they are illegal, it is up to you whether you repay them, but again, you did have use of the money.
You also need to close your bank acct immediately and get a new one, as these lenders will try and hit your account. You will also have to do a Cease and Desist letter to your lenders, spelling out how they can contact you. They will try and call you and tell you you are going to be arrested, blah blah, but I am here to tell you that you can NOT be arrested for defaulting on a PDL in California.
Finally, USE the Dept of Corporations. File complaints against these PDLs with them and they will be your best friend.

You are quite welcome. I personally have gotten refunds but would like to get more, due quite a lot. Depending on the lender, you may get lucky and receive refunds. Good luck!

You need to go to CA Department of Financial Regulation to determine if they are licensed. My guess, is that they are not. On this site, click on forums, then click on payday loan help, then click on sticky on how to deal with unlicensed lenders. Follow every step. Also, please register with the forum so you will see when someone answers your post.
