I found out the Louisiana does not regulate internet payday loans. Does anyone know where I go from here? Please help!


Payday lending is legal in the State of Louisiana. You should contact the Louisiana Office of Financial Institutions in order to find out if your payday lenders are licensed to operate in your state. I did call the office, and I was told that they only regulate storefront payday loans? So, Does that mean that these are illegal in Louisana?

I agree with Anna. If you find that the lenders are licensed to operate in your state, then you will be responsible for both the principal amount and interest. Otherwise, you are required to pay only the principal amount. I think the following link may help you in this regard:
