you see that is where LRA,and the pdl being illegal come in.they are not going to accept just the remaining amount owed.they want what they say you owe,and nothing less.being unlicensed and illegal in NY means nothing to them.they would rather violate the law to collect what they want as opposed to what is really owed.besides how does an unlicensed pdl,or collector validate any debt?they really can't being unlicensed.the stance of this forum,and the people who come for help want to pay what was borriwed,but the pdl's and collectors are stil in the dark ages when they could scare people into just paying.they will eventually give in and make it seem like they are doing you a favor by accepting the actual amount owed.

i personally would not,because i guarantee they won't accept it.it's not worth your time.they will end up threatening you.
