I just received a letter back from LTD Financial Services in response to me asking them to validate the debt. Here is what they said.....
We are in receipt of your correspondence. Enclosed is a copy of your validation request. This request and any questions regarding your account should be directed tot he original creditor. We have stopped collection activity on the above referenced account.

and then gave me the original creditor's information to contact myself....YEAH right like I would.

My questions is what does this really mean and does anyone have some experiences to share of something like this...like what to expect next?

The whole thing sounds fishy. I mean if the collection agency really owed the debt, they would have validated it, right! Normally, collection agencies don't like to lose the opportunity to make money. I think they would have validated the debt if they really possessed the debt. Contact your original creditor and send him this letter to request for alternative repayment plan:

After repaying the debt, ask him to update the account status on your credit report.
