Is the Loan Shop legal in the state of CA

I have over paid the Loan Shop in the $780.00. I stopped my ACH withdraws for them..My loan was $390.00. I paid a total amount of $1,170.00. They are hounding me to pay back the $390.00. I just want to make sure that when I contact them I am within my rights that they are ilegal in CA

Side note; you do realize that revoking their rights to debit your account won't stop them? They will just change their name and drain your account!
