Magnum Cash dispute e-mail chain
Date: Thu, 05/31/2012 - 09:20
Hi, I thought I'd share my success with fighting Magnum Cash. I don't know that they will refund money, as I caught my situation early enough. Hope this helps...
Dear Mr.
We are in receipt of your email dated May 31, 2012. In our prior email it was explained to you that International Cash Advance, Inc. (ICA), doing business as Magnum Cash Advance, is a British Virgin Islands (BVI) corporation. No solicitation or advertisement was offered in Illinois by ICA. Customers must seek out ICA on the internet and apply on "their" web site. The choice of law governing your loan, The BVI, was clearly displayed on the web site and in the loan agreement that you executed. We also pointed out that you agreed that all transactions take place in the BVI and not in the state of Illinois.
Regardless, in an effort to keep a customer satisfied the Director of Operations for ICA has agreed to consider your loan of April 5, 2012 as paid in full.

.ExternalClass .ecxhmmessage P{padding:0px;}.ExternalClass body.ecxhmmessage{font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;}Dear Magnum Cash Advance:
Upon review of your previous comments and after further thought regarding the matter, I will be deducting the bank fees assessed by my bank for returning payment requests to you. Additionally, I will be deducting the amount charged for stopping payment on further ACH withdrawls by your company. You offered this loan in bad faith, knowingly charging rates that exceeded the cap allowed by my home state, Illinois. You are not a registered lender within the state of Illinois, therefore not allowed to lend here - via a storefront - physical or virtual.
As indicated, you claim the amount of my outstanding principle [sic] to be $84.18. I am deducting 2 ACH failure fees of $34.00 each and a $30.00 stop payment fee applied to my savings account. I am claiming the following:
Outstanding Principal: $ 84.18
less: Bank ACH Fee: $ 34.00
less: Bank ACH Fee: $ 34.00
less: Bank SP Fee: $ 30.00
Total due lender: $ -13.82
I am willing to 'forgive' this outstanding balance due me. If no response to this e-mail is received by June 7, 2012, I will assume the above terms to be acceptable by Magnum Cash Advance, International Cash Advance, Call Center Services, and all subsidiaries, partners, and assigns of referenced companies.

Dear Mr.
We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our product. At the time you applied for the loan, the contract stated that all transactions occurred in the British Virgin Islands and that if you did not agree with this you were asked to seek out another lender in your state. Regardless, the lender has a simple policy. If you are unhappy with the product, pay back the principle. The amount of your principle is $84.18. No further payments will be deducted from your account. No further telephone contact will be attempted from this point forward. If no response to this email is received by June 6, 2012 with arrangements to return the funds you received, your account will be forwarded to the lender's collection agency for the full balance due.
All Money orders and checks should be made out to: International Cash Advance, Inc.

Dear Mr. ABC
I know for a fact that all the 'choice of law' talk is just utter BS and you can go pound sand. I am already in the process of filing complaints with the state authorities as well as the address you asked me to forward your check. I want my money and I want it NOW.
Sincerely,
