Dear Customer:

This email is to notify you of a recent change in loan processing with
your prior lender. They have turned over your account to PDL Loan Center
for any future matters in lending that you may be in need of. Your status
was transferred over as valued and because of that any loans will be an
automatic approval. If this is something that could benefit you at this
time please contact our customer service at 866-571-3687 to confirm your
loan request or to answer any questions that you may have.

If you would prefer to finalize the application yourself or it is after
hours you can complete the following steps online:

1) Go to www (dot) rbtloans (dot) com and login using your email address and the last
four digits of your social security number as your password. Once you
have logged in click on the tab that says finish application.

2) You will then have 4 columns to complete. Update any information as
needed. After each one is finished make sure to click on save so that
each of the four columns has a green check mark by it. Once all four
columns are saved click on next.

3) Click in the box that says you have read and accept the disclosure
policy. If this box is not checked your loan will not be processed.

4) Type in your name exactly as it shows to the right of the box. Then
click on complete loan application and you are finished.

If you are not in need of our assistance today please save this email for
future reference if that need ever does arise. Thank you and we look
forward to assisting you.
To Whom It May Concern,

I have received this email concerning a loan request made to your company by supposedly myself. Please let me inform you of a few things:

1. I never applied for a loan with this company in question nor have I requested your services from RBT Loans.

2. I will not be completeting any application nor will I verify any information you are in receipt of.

3. PLEASE remove/destroy my email address and all information transferred to your office/company IMMEDIATELY!

4. If any of my personal information is comprimised due to your phishing attempt, I will pursue investigative actions with the proper authorities.

Thanks.

I definately agree Beal, that the more folks actually know about the laws. The more it helps them deal with these companies. I hope to get a running thread on how to deal with PDL emails specifically. Atleast folks will start to see a pattern and know what to watch out for. Help give these companies a taste os their own medicine when they come knocking ;)

Cool, I don't know what State you live in and what their PDL laws are, but it might be a good idea to send a copy of this e-mail to your State legislators to let them see what kind of deceptive practices the PDL's are using to get someone "hooked," when in fact the person has never had a loan w/ their company. Maybe even send it to the local news media if you see them doing a story on PDL's? Put the word out there that these companies are downright devious.

This is a hook for a new loan. There was never any prior loan application requested with any company. To me this looks like an attempt to get me hooked into a loan thinking I am already approved. The subject of the email was "PDL APPROVAL." People in desperate need of money would fall for this sadley :mad::mad:

RBT= Rocky Boy Technologies aka MTE/MNE affliates.

actually sometimes responding does help.let me relate something that happened 8 months ago.i got a survey from SECOND WALLET.because i was a "valued customer".anyway it was a phishing scam for info.so being in mood to do something for you know what and giggles.i answered everything with...go f--- yourself.everything.my name, date of birth.everything was that answer.i sent it,and got the thank you message.needless to say that was the last thing i got from SECOND WALLET.so sometimes doing something like that not only feels good, but works in getting them to stop the junk mail.

i know i had to get in on this train!!! i havent thought about doing that (reporting those pdl) but a lot of these fly by night where you KNOW they are phishing i make up fake names and so forth. one time i gave them a name Sue Lions at 1500 blue hill ave (Franklin Park Zoo) and have fun with them but mostly i just delete them. it is a pain the &*ss because soon as i delete another pops up. the only this is since i live in mass and it is prohibited i will start reporting them.

sometimes i do just delete and than another really does pop up.
i just keep reporting them.. maybe if the reports add up, something will be done? besides a lot of illegal companies say to lenders in states that prohibited them that they are not doing anything wrong since they did not solicit them to sign up. well that is a bunch of bull and this only proves that people are being solicited.

Many of their websites are very misleading, as well; even though PDLs are prohibited in my State, if you go on their websites many times you'll see "testimonials from satisfied customers," and they list people who are supposedly in my State. Showing these "satisfied customers" from States where they're prohibited, in my opinion, is misleading people new to the PDL trap that they're on the up-and-up.
