I need assistance with getting out of this cycle of payday loans. I originally had a total of 6 payday loans at one time and have managed with disciplne and alot of sacrficing to get that down to 3. The two online loans are whats killing me ChecknGo and Plain Green loans. ChecknGo I paid 6 payments of $317.62 on a $2000 loan, then refinanced due to car trouble, and since have paid another 4 payments $364.55. With Plain Green I have made 9 payments of $114.21 on a $1700 loan. I have taken the steps to close my bank account after seeing your advise to other members, and I have sent a revocation of ACH letter to Plain Green to their illegality. I have just received threatening calls from both lenders please advise of what steps to take next.

Which state are you from? ChecknGo legally operates in a lot of states and if you are in one of those states, you might need to pay back the loan along with accrued interest and fees. There are some states though where its illegal to refinance or rollover a payday loan. Ignore the harassing calls from Plain Green and file a complaint with the AG and the FTC.

Hello,

I have worked with both Check n go and Plain Green. It sounds like they are both installment loans. Check n go is licensed, Plain Green is not. Here is what to do:

Check n Go: Check n Go is legal in most states, and won't lend to unlicensed states, so it's a pretty sure bet your installment loan is legal there. YOu need to default in order to get them to work with you.

Once you default on your payment, collections will work with you to make your payment in four installments. They will work out a settlement with you after 60 days. Be persistent with the people at collections. I got a decent settlement, so hang in there. You technically need to miss 2 loan payments to get a settlement, but continue to work with collections throughout the process. They will want you to work out the first missed payment, then when you default on the next regular payment they will work further with you. Stay in contact and don't ignore them, and make sure you pay any amount you work out with collections.

Plain Green: They are not licensed anywhere, you only owe them the remaining principal which is $672.11. Re-send the ACH revocation/illegal lender letter to their customer service email, and let them know that you owe the remainder of the principal only and want to set it up in installments. They will claim they are not illegal and not a payday loan, but they will set up a payment plan and allow you to pay via debit card or money order. They will stop contacting you via phone when you tell them to, and are decent to work with.

I have an outstanding loan with American Web Loan, are they illegal? I am paying about 200.00 in interest per month to pay back an 800.00 loan, it is killing me as my principal never gets paid.

add up what you have already paid to Plain Green including all interest and charges. subtract that from the original loan. if you have paid over, they owe you. if you still owe, email them and tell them you will pay the balance of principal only in x number of payments, starting x date.

I just went through it with them. they gave me 5 payments on balance, credited all prior payments to principal. They know they are illegal, have no standing in my state, etc. They would just prefer to get back their principal outlay and be done with me.
