Ok this may sound like I am a total airhead but here goes, I looked up licensed pay day lenders for the state of Alaska the ones listed are not any that a company called Marval and Associates sent me a email saying I owed. This company emailed me and said I owed Cashnet- check n go- els and ALS cash cap , BMG a total of 1275.00 dollars. I did have some loans out in 2009 and believe I had paid them all off. I also have a name of Marauder corporation on my credit report for a company by the name of Solomon Finance, saying I owe them 690. dollars. So here is the question are they illegal in Alaska. The funny thing is that on my life lock account under payday lenders 2 of them are on there and they state paid, the others are not listed.

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
Marvel and Associates is a collection agency. You should ask the collection agency to validate the debt first. Send them a written request to validate the debt via certified mail. Thereby, you'll get to know whether or not you really owe the debt. If they can't validate the debt, then send a cease and desist letter to them. If you have paid off the debts, there is no need to pay any money further. You should also repeat the same procedure with Marauder Corporation.

You can find out whether or not payday loans are legal in your state from the following url:

If you really owe the debts but pdls are not legal in your state, then you're only required to pay the principal amount. You won't have to pay the interest rates and other fees. However, if the companies are legal, then you'll have to arrange a payment plan with them.
