MyCashNow/CPD - Couple of questions.

I have a loan with them that I've just been renewing (for 6 months, so you can imagine what has been paid so far). I'm in NJ. I know our laws here say they are considered prohibited. Is this actually the same as "illegal?" How does interest rate max play a roll (if it does?).
Any information would be extremely appreciated.

As you're based at NJ, you'll follow the laws of that state. As payday loans are prohibited in NJ, it means that it is illegal for MyCashNow to operate in your state. I couldn't locate their address but the phone numbers mentioned in their official website are:

Thanks for confirming that prohibited and illegal are one and the same. I've definitely paid back the principal (and then some). Looking at the fees and interest paid to them over the years is really an eye opener. But, that's all over and done with.

ReeRee - Where do you see this? The only thing that remotely resembles an address for them that I find on their website is a very small link on the bottom that lists a Canada address and in the actual loan agreement document - lists a Grenada address.

I've been emailing them for a week and it comes back to me no matter what email address I use CPD or Mycashnow...I've just mailed a letter to them, but they are sending extremely nasty letters...and I only owed $60 on a $500 loan that I overpaid by $319. already...i just want to send them the stupid $60 to get them off my back, but they won't acknowledge my letters and i won't take their calls...oh well, that's their problem...no longer mine!
hold on.you say you overpaid a 500.00 by 319.00?then not only do
hold on.you say you overpaid a 500.00 by 319.00?then not only do you not owe them 60.00.they owe you the 319 back.why are you gonna pay them 60.00.i would start emailing refund demands asap.

I have overpaid but I cannot get them to acknowledge me except by phone and email where there is no email address I can send back to. i've emailed them to every email address I could find (and there were plenty) and they ALL come back...PAYDAYMAX also...and I will not take their phone calls, I just don't want to speak to them. I sent a letter to them USPS but so far no response. I know I've overpaid and I'm owed a refund, but at this point I'll settle for a PIF. I've gotten two PIFs from other lenders and have overpaid them (one by $1081 and the other by $800) but they won't issue a refund. I'm not sure how to go about getting one after the PIF...?

well then i would consider the matter closed if i were you.it just struck me that you were gonna pay them more when they owe you.if you filed the complaints i would again consider the matter closed yourself.the loan was illegal and you overpaid.it doesn't really matter that they won't respond to emails,or reg mail then as you were ignoring PAYDAYMAX keep on doing that.consider it an unofficial PIF.
Thanks Paulmergel...I was leaning towards that anyway, but I fig
Thanks Paulmergel...I was leaning towards that anyway, but I figured for $60 I could stop one of the phone calls...I actually still owe PayDayMax $183...but again...they won't give me an address to send it to so until they do, I'll let it go...I would think they would want their money!
