I took out and paid back a USFASTCASH loan several years ago. Yesterday I recieved a check in the mail from them for $300.00. In the memo it says Customer Refund. There is no other correspondence with it. The check is drawn off Welch State Bank Of Welch in OK. I am afraid to cash it. Does anyone know if this is a settlement or a scam?

I think it would depend on if you paid them off or not. It may be a way to gain access to your bank account as well. Look closely at the back of the check. Make sure there is no fine print with new loan terms on it that you agree to if you sign the check to cash it.

If you feel the money is legitimate I would cash it at the grocery store customer service desk or go to a check cashing place. Even with the fees from the check cashing place it is still more money then you had to begin with.

Never deposit these checks in your account.

Hope this helps

I did pay them back within a week and never heard from them again. There is no fine print on the check just the date, the reference says USFCREFUND 162 and it has the amount. No other wording. In the memo section on the check it says customer refund. They are just not trustworthy and I know the FTC has a lawsuite against them. Thank you for the advice of cashing it at a grocery store or currency exchange. I just want to validate it before I cash it:-?
