I have a PDL with MMG, which is now Holiday Group. I live in NY, so they are illegal here. I closed my bank account and sent them the letter. With the illegal interest fees, my loan is almost paid off, but they are insisting that it isn't and that I need to call them to work out an arrangement. What should my next step be?

If you have paid off the principal amount to them, then you aren't liable to pay them anything else. As they are illegal, they won't be able to charge you with any kind of late fees.
