I just received a very disturbing call from an aggressive individual who sounded like he was calling from over seas. He stated I had defrauded on an internet pay day loan - which I have not. He had my bank account number, but social security number and my work info - he called me on my work number. He stated I need to be in county court tomorrow at 11:00 am (Saturday) and the phone number he provided me to Midland Marketing was, in fact, the number HE was calling from. I am terribly worried and don't know what to do.....have you any experience with this type of situation???? HELP!!!!!!!!

Hello there. I too just recieved a similar call, claiming that he was faxing information to my boss, and I would be fired on Monday Morning, and that the police would be here in two hours to arrest me, and also that he is good friends of the Attorney General, and could have it all stopped, so I asked him for additional information, and he yelled at me, told me he was sending it to the Attorney General, and I would have to pay $25000 in legal fees. Oh, did I mention that he promised I would loose my job, and my family forever. And 11:00 on Saturday? He wouldnt even tell me what court to be in at 11:00 tomorrow morning for pete's sake.

***UPDATE*** I spoke with this guy little over 2 weeks ago, claiming he was going to have me arrested, blah blah. He has not contacted me since. During the only call he made to me, I repeatedly told him that I was the victim of Identity Theft, and that I would be working with law enforcement regarding this and other matters. He became very upset, and told me he would be sending the police out right away, and I had less than 2 hours of freedom left in my life. Well, two plus weeks later, never been free-er. Also, after searching many sights, it appears that many people actually paid this guy, only to be contacted months later and get the same story again, claiming that they never got the payment. DO NOT PAY HIM. Tell him you are the victim of Identity Theft, and that you will be contacting the athorities. Many people have said that they called the FBI on him, but I really do not think they are going to find him. Midland Marketing is based over seas, and more than likely he is using a phone similiar to a trac phone to place the calls from over seas, and once you pay him, it goes into his over seas account, never to be seen again. Well, thats all I have, hope it helps. YOU CANNOT BE ARRESTED, no matter what he says. Also, another note. If he has your current account number, I would suggest changing it. The account number he had for me, I had closed like 7 months ago for suspicious activity.

i have also gotten calls from these people. what i want to know is how did he get our information?? and the people who paid him.... did he take only the amount he told you or is he continuing to take money from your account. i work in criminal court and have for almost 10 years. things don't work the way he portrays. its pretty much the opposite. what do we do to get our information away from them???

i too recived a call similar to what is listed in the previous post from phone# 1-305-423-7436 he said his name is Mark Greelo (with a middle eastern accent) and he worked for a "department" and would not tell me which department and for what company. He said i has unpaid online payday loan from Midland Marketing, he could not provide me what bank acct the money was transfered to nor would he verify my SSN# but he said he had it, he stated that court papers would be left on my doorstep in about 3 days and he would not even verify the correct address. After reading all of these other post it sounds fake but we will see if I get any court papers

I too have had trouble with this same guy. He has all of my information and has called my job several times. One time he called my job seven times back to back even being flirtous on the phone. I had to tell him that this call was being recorded and that I will turn it in to the police as a harassment case. So he deceided to wait a couple of days before he called again. So I finally just got fed up and told him that I know longer work for the company anymore just to get him to stop calling. Someone really needs to catch this guy and make him pay all of the money that he has taken.
