Were they unlicensed in your state? If so, then you may owe only the principal amount to them. They might or might not accept your payments and demand full payment including charges and interests but you may repay only the principal amount.
If you wrote a check then I can anly assume these are store fron
If you wrote a check then I can anly assume these are store front lenders you are talking about? If that's true, then you are obligated to pay back interest and fees also but we can only answer your question accurately with additional information:
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.
