Criminal Action: Prohibited (Unless check returned due to closed account or stop-payment by maker)
So, does this mean if I close my account, I can be prosecuted?
I currently have three storefront loans through AAA Cash Advance and Quik Cash. I did get an EPP from Quik Cash, to take care of that, but I don't think AAA Cash Advance is a member.
The amount on the AAA Cash Advance originally was 450, the two with Quik Cash (One is my husband) I am not sure about- but the EPP makes this do-able for us. Neither of those are defaulted.
I also have an installment loan through First Bank of Delaware that is sitting at 514.10 and current.
I also have a loan through CashNetUSA PAYDAYADV (Is what it shows up as on my account.) and I think that's Advance America. It's for 500, going to cost 625- not in default, either.
What can I do, here?
You definitely shouldn't close your account, but, you can still
You definitely shouldn't close your account, but, you can still revoke the ACH's and make payment arrangements with them via the mail, I wouldn't send checks, instead I would send money orders. That's for the Internet loans.
If you haven't defaulted yet (on store fronts) it wouldn't hurt to ask for an EPP, all they can say is no. If for some reason you aren't able to pay these loans and they had no EPP, my suggestion would be this.
I would send them a letter, certified, return receipt requested, in that letter I would detail the events, such as requesting an EPP and being turned down, then I would explain the hardship you are enduring, outline a payment plan for them (something you can afford for real), and send a good faith payment (money order) with your letter. Then make sure you send them payments as outlined in the letter (for example, 100.00 every two weeks, or what you can afford). They can and will sue you, but, if you are making every effort to resolve this and have written proof (the letter you send and copies of payments) then the chances of them suing you decreases, and by the time this would go to court you would probably have it almost paid off anyways, even if you don't have them paid off and it goes to court you will have proof that you were TRYING to pay them and the judge will probably not do anything, since you are already making that effort.

Thank you.
I pretty much am STUCK. I decided to join because I got in this situation in the first place because of an online college. The adviser swore up and down I'd have my full pell grant in my account by now, so I cut my hours so I could focus on the orientation for the school.
As evidenced by the PDLs- nooope. I am still enrolled, hopeful that they sort this mess and at least the amount was honest. :P Then I CAN pay back alot of this. If not, it's chip away at it for me.
Is this information on revoking ACH's in that thread I saw pinned? I think given what I have read Bank of Delaware may be cool with a payment arrangement- but maaan, that storefront seemed shady as hell. It was like, two desks and sparse decor.

If they are members of the CFSA (Community Financial Services Association of America) then they should offer the EPP, click the link below to see if they are members:

Just because they aren't in the list doesn't mean they aren't members, you should call them and ask. Click the link below to read about how the EPP works:
