Hi everyone,
I just joined this community because like so many others my wife and I have gotten ourselves into payday loan hell. We have multiple pdl out at the moment they are consuming our lives. All loans taken out are store front loans and I'm worried that if I close my account they will turn my checks over to the DA. Does anyone have any advice about what I can do? I'm thinking about trying to put them off till I get my tax refund in march. I just don't want my wages garnished/my place of work being harassed.

Welcome to the forums!!!
At first you should contact Missouri Division of Finance to know about your payday loan companies. You will have to make sure whether or not the lenders are legal in Missouri. You will be liable to pay both the principal and interest, if the lenders are licensed in your state. You are required to pay back only the borrowed amount to the illegal lenders. In this respect you can close your bank account to stop unauthorized withdrawal. You will be glad to hear that illegal lenders can???t take any legal action. Ask them for the refund, if paid back them more than the principal.

Legal lenders can sue you because of non-payment of debt. They can garnish your wages also, once the court issues a judgment against you .That???s why it???s better to payback the required amount asap.
