Frustration in MD

Morgan & Associates is a scam per the MD Financial Regulator's office
The other two have threatened civil action suits and have had people call me saying they were stopping by my home the next day to serve me. Each time, it took forever to get them to give me their address to mail a debt verification request. And Solomon & Strauss would only give me a PO Box.
Should I be concerned about a civil action suit? I will fax a letter to the MD Financial Regulator's office, but a civil suit is this last thing I need right now.

Nope, pdls are illegal in MD and you can't get sued for illegal payday loans. Go ahead and report them to the regulator's office.

1- they cannot serve you at your house. Services have to be done by a Sheriff, USPS Certified Mail or through a company called a "process server"
2-If the people threatening you are not the company who first made the loan, this is an 1. Debt collectors aren't allowed to pretend to be attornies and can't threaten a lawsuit if they either don't plan on filing one or do not have the authority to do so. If this is the case, they are liable to you for up to $1,000 + lawyers fees. I suggest getting an attorney and making them pay

If they are illegal , in Maryland, you do not owe anything... not even principle...... They can't sue you for an illegal loan. I already spoke to The Commision office of financial management for maryland to confirm.

If you've paid back the amt. of the loan, you're ok. Keep in contact w/ the MD financial regulation agency, file a complaint with the MD AG office. And even though these morons will NOT be coming by your house, for your own records, keep a log of phone calls, emails, etc., you get from the PDL's and their associates.
