does saying "wrong number" work?

So i've been getting multiple calls from various area codes, and at first I wasn't answering them, but then I did just out of curiosity, it's always been someone with a heavy accent that pronounces my name wrong, I haven't had this number very long, but I was stupid enough to use it when I got some payday loans.

So I started saying "Im sorry but you have the wrong number" and they quickly hang up.

does this work? Will they ever stop calling?

I couldnt care less, I don't care how much they call.


If you really owe the debts, then it doesn't make sense to avoid the calls. Rather it will be better if you could take steps in order to get rid of the debts. You should check out your state laws in order to find out whether or not your payday lenders are licensed to operate in your state. If not, then simply pay them the principal amount and get rid of the debt. This will help you in stopping those calls as well!!

I agree with my previous posters. If you find that the lenders are licensed in your state, then you will have to pay the principal amount along with the interest. To know whether or not pdl companies are licensed in your state, you may visit the following link:

I appreciate your opinion, however I paid over double than what then what was originally asked for and they were perfectly agreeable. that was pappercash(costa rica) granted, i won'[t be borrowing from again.
