Internet Loan help in MO

I have a $300 loan with mycashnow.com that has been reported to Credit Protection Depot and a $300 with Nationwide cash that have not been paid and they are asking for way more than the $300 that I'm pretty sure is all I owe if they are illegal. I would like to know if they are legal in Missouri and if they are illegal, what is the best course of action with them after closing my bank account?
