We took a loan from One-Click in January. At this point we owe only 50.00, following the great advice in this forum. They called today, my husband explained to them that these loans are not legitimate in CT, we owe only the principal and with everything we have paid, we owe them 50.00 now, and could they send us an address to remit payment? The man replied "We don't do business in CT." which is a ridiculous answer. Then he said we owe 700.00 or go to collections. Any advice? Thanks for this terrific forum.

First I would resend your letter to them and explain that you will pay them the last $50 left on the principle only, I would also state to them that it will only be paid by a money order so an address will be needed. If they refuse just let them know that no address means no payment. I would also ignore all phone calls with them and just keep emailing them. As an illegal lender there is nothing legal they can do except through around ideal threats to try and scare you but just ignore them.
