I've been dealing with the NAR for several months. They are collecting on an old payday from the Cash Jar. I reside in Illinois and they emailed me a letter . The original loan was for $600 and I had paid over $1100. The last payment was in Jan 2010. Once I realized this was an unlicensed lender, I closed my account. NAR is the 4th agency I have been dealing with on this matter. I explained to them the lender is not licensed in my state and I have paid over the amount due. The last person I spoke to there stated he could settle the account for $600 if I agreed to pay 100 per month. I agreed only, because I dont want to get sued or be served at my place of employement in fear of being fired. The first payment was suppose go through last week, however I did not have enough money in my account to cover it. I know that was not smart on my part to agree to a payment arrangement, however I want this to go away. My employer has put me on notice due to these collection agencies contacting me at work. The last thing I need is to be served at work.
I received a call again this morning stating I will be sent a summons at my place of employment, since I should be found there. I dont want to be sued. I checked with the Ill Dept of Fed. Reg and this agency is not licensed in Illinois. I'm not sure if they are a collection agency or a law firm. Has anyone delt with them? Can they sue me? If I receive a summons, how do I respond? The numbers listed for them are 888-701-6168 and 877-733-0479. I am suppose to call them back by 2:00 pm today. Please help!!:-(

you should have treated it the way you did the other three trying to collect.this is a scamming bottomfeeder.how did you handle the others?btw if you live in northen IL.cook, dupage, lake,or kendal counties only the sheriff can serve you,and their office does not serve at work.do not call them back,or try to pay them.file an AG complaint.go to the IL AG website to do this.ask yourself this simple question.how can an unlicensed illegal piece of crap sue you?they can't all they did was use scare tactics to get money they are not entitled to.go online and get the complaint ball rolling.everything this piece of garbage told you was a lie to scare you.file the complaint, and ignore them.do not call them, and if caught on the phone hang up without a word.they can do nothing.

Your PDL wasn't legal in the first place. You need to send these people a cease and desist letter. You should also file a complaint with the IL AG and the FTC. If they call again after the c&d, sue them. I would also file a police report and give a copy of that report to your HR department to cover yourself regarding the calls. These people are harassing you and attempting to defraud you. And you've already been defrauded already! You aren't going to be sued by an illegal lender. Not going to happen.

The other 3 places also threatened me with a summons. I ignored them as well. My employer put me on notice a few months ago when this agency started calling. I dont want to get fired. I work in Dupage county, however reside in Cook. After reviewng my paperwork with Cash Jar, I realized I put my home address as my work address. This is why I am afraid of being served. If this was in fact a legit company, would they confirm my home address before being served?
